Your apps hold important context about your business. Who's waiting on a restock. Which loyalty members redeem their points. Which subscription renewals failed overnight. App extensions bring that valuable context into Sidekick, so it works from a complete picture of how your business runs.
Sidekick's proactive recommendations take this further. Signals like these used to sit inside an app until you went looking. Now, Sidekick can draw on supported apps in your stack and bring them to the Home page on your Shopify admin as a recommendation. Open that recommendation, and Sidekick takes you to the right place in the app to act.
What app extensions make possible
Sidekick already knows your products, orders, and customers. App extensions give it the rest of the picture. They help in three ways:
- Sharper recommendations: Sidekick uses deeper and broader context of your business to surface more useful guidance across your work.
- Clearer reasoning: When Sidekick recommends something it can show you the app data behind it, so you can make decisions with clarity and confidence.
- Action with approval: With supported apps, Sidekick does the setup. It opens the right screen in the app with details filled in, you review and save it. The judgement stays with you, the busywork doesn't.
Here are some partners who are showing this in practice, bringing app context into Sidekick and helping you move from recommendation to next step.
- Printful
- Smile.io
- Appstle Pickup & Delivery
- Notify Me!
- Kaching Bundles
- Kaching Subscriptions
- TinySEO
- Sendvio
Printful: Turn approved designs into products
Print on demand moves fast: create a design, approve it, turn it into a product, and add it to your store. Printful helps merchants create print-on-demand products without holding finished inventory. Sidekick is most useful at the point where a merchant is choosing what to sell, or turning approved artwork into a product listing.
Sidekick can check Printful setup progress and browse catalog details such as product categories, product names, brands, starting base costs, sizes, colors, and printing techniques, where available. Once the artwork is ready, Sidekick can help open Printful’s product-creation flow for a supported product type, such as a T-shirt, hat, or mug.
The final review still happens in Printful. You review the mockups and pricing in Printful, then add it to your store.
Try it: Ask Sidekick what is left in the Printful setup or which products are available. Then ask it to prepare a supported product from approved artwork in Printful.
Smile.io: Understand loyalty performance and prepare bonus-points campaigns
A loyalty program works best when the next promotion starts with a real read on customer behavior. Smile.io helps merchants run loyalty programs with points, referrals, and rewards.
Sidekick can use Smile.io insights to explain loyalty-driven revenue, reported ROI, member customer lifetime value, program-health scores, recent points activity, referral performance, and comparisons between members, redeemers, and shoppers overall.
If the data points to a promotion opportunity, Sidekick can prepare a time-limited bonus-points campaign for review in Smile. That could mean a double-points campaign around a product launch, or a smaller incentive designed to encourage reward redemption.
Try it: Ask Sidekick how the loyalty program is performing in Smile. Then ask it to prepare a bonus-points campaign if the data points to a clear promotion opportunity.
Appstle Pickup & Delivery: Manage bookings and operations without juggling the dashboard
Pickup and delivery operations run on information you don’t always have at hand: which dates customers can book, what your workload looks like, which orders need attention. Appstle Pickup & Delivery tracks all of it.
Sidekick can check your pickup and delivery workload by day or week, identify orders by status or location, and explain why specific booking dates are unavailable to customers. It can also pull your notification settings and discount configuration so you understand how customers are being guided through checkout.
When an order needs a reschedule or a status change, or when your notifications or discounts should shift, Sidekick can prepare those changes in Appstle’s editors: A new pickup date based on availability. A status advance from awaiting preparation to ready. Updated notification emails or adjusted pickup and delivery discounts. You review each change in Appstle and save when you’re ready.
Try it: Ask Sidekick about your pickup and delivery workload this week. Ask which dates customers can’t book and why. Then ask it to prepare a reschedule or status change for an order that needs attention.
Notify Me!: Turn product demand into restock alerts and pre-orders
Out-of-stock products can still tell a merchant what shoppers want. Notify Me! helps capture that demand through waitlists, back-in-stock notifications, wish lists, and pre-orders.
Sidekick can use Notify Me! data to identify products with open waitlist entries, strong wish list demand, low stock, outstanding pre-orders, or pre-order revenue. Once there is a clear signal, Sidekick can help prepare the follow-up in Notify Me!: a restock alert, updated back-in-stock email, revised waitlist form, or pre-order offer.
Use it when a product is getting attention before inventory is ready, or when a recent restock needs a fast customer follow-up.
Try it: Ask Sidekick which products have the strongest waitlist or wish list demand. Then ask it to prepare a restock alert or pre-order offer in Notify Me! for review.
Kaching Bundles App & Upsells: Analyze bundle deals and refine offers
Kaching Bundles helps merchants create and improve bundle offers, quantity discounts, buy X, get Y promotions, fixed bundles, collection deals, and mix-and-match deals.
Sidekick can find existing deals, explain their settings, check products and tiers, review schedules and statuses, compare performance, read A/B test results, retrieve app recommendations, and troubleshoot whether the app embed is enabled. If a change makes sense, Sidekick can prepare a new single-product quantity-break offer, open a Kaching-recommended offer, or help revise an existing deal in Kaching’s editor.
Use it to understand which tiers shoppers choose, whether an offer is active, or how a deal performed before changing the discount, badge, gift, or product targeting.
Try it: Ask Sidekick which Kaching bundle deals are active or which deal performed best over a specific period. Then ask it to prepare or refine an offer in Kaching for review.
Kaching Subscriptions App: Understand recurring revenue and prepare subscribe-and-save offers
Subscription growth can stall for different reasons: fewer new subscribers, more cancellations, failed payments, weak retention, or delivery options that no longer fit how customers buy. Kaching Subscriptions gives merchants the data to separate those signals.
Sidekick can explain monthly recurring revenue, active and paused subscriptions, churn, retention, billing health, failed-payment recovery, cancellation and pause reasons, cohort retention, delivery-frequency breakdowns, subscription records, plan groups, widget settings, and projected product demand from active subscriptions.
When the next step is a new offer, Sidekick can prepare a subscription plan in Kaching’s editor with selected products, delivery frequencies, and percentage discounts. The merchant reviews and saves it in Kaching.
Try it: Ask Sidekick for a Kaching Subscriptions health check or failed-payment review. Then ask it to prepare a new subscription offer in Kaching for review and saving.
TinySEO: Find SEO issues and stage fixes for review
TinySEO gives merchants a clearer view of store SEO health, including product metadata, image alt text, structured data, broken links, and site-audit issues.
Sidekick can help turn that SEO work into a focused queue. It can read TinySEO scores, failing checks, Google Search Console performance, broken-link reports, site-audit results, and IndexNow submission data where connected. Then it can stage updates in TinySEO, such as product titles, meta descriptions, URL handles, focus keywords, product categories, image alt text, and structured-data settings.
That makes TinySEO useful for finding the pages worth fixing first, especially products with low scores or pages with high impressions and low click-through rates.
Try it: Ask Sidekick to review SEO health in TinySEO and identify the products or pages that need attention. Then ask it to stage SEO edits for review before saving.
Sendvio: Turn campaign insights into emails, automations, and pop-ups
Sendvio helps merchants create email campaigns, marketing automations, SMS steps, and pop-ups.
Before preparing anything new, Sidekick can review recent Sendvio campaign results, subscriber-health data, and existing automations. That gives the next campaign a better starting point: what has already been sent, how recent sends performed, and whether list health needs attention.
From there, Sidekick can prepare a newsletter, create an automated email or SMS sequence, add steps to an automation, or create a welcome, site-exit, or cart-exit pop-up for review in Sendvio. Use it before a launch, after a quiet campaign, or when an abandoned-checkout flow needs to get out of idea mode.
Try it: Ask Sidekick to review recent Sendvio campaigns and subscriber health. Then ask it to prepare a newsletter, automation, or pop-up in Sendvio for review.
The apps you already trust. The data you already have. Sidekick brings them together so you don’t have to. More apps are building extensions every week. The momentum is there. The ecosystem is moving toward something real.
Sidekick app extensions FAQ
Do I have to set anything up?
No. When an app has built a Sidekick extension, Sidekick can work with it as soon as the app is installed. What Sidekick can read or prepare in a given app depends on what the app's extension exposes, and some features follow the app's own plan tiers.
Does Sidekick have access to all my app data?
Only what the developer made available through their extension. Access is scoped to the data and actions the app exposes, and it follows the same permission model as the rest of Sidekick. Sidekick can't reach into an app that hasn't built an extension.
Can Sidekick make changes in my apps?
No. In apps that have built action extensions, Sidekick prepares changes for you to review. It opens the right screen in the app with details filled in. Some apps also let Sidekick apply a specific setting change directly when you ask for it, only with your explicit request.
When will Sidekick show proactive recommendations from apps?
Sidekick recommendations are starting to use data from compatible apps. Coverage begins with a set of participating apps and will expand as more extensions qualify.
What’s the difference between proactive recommendations from Sidekick and asking Sidekick directly?
Asking Sidekick is how you get answers right now. Sidekick recommendations work in the background, look for opportunities to improve your store, and bring them to the Home page of your Shopify admin. Both draw on the same app extensions.
What happens when I ask about an app without a Sidekick extension?
Sidekick will let you know it can’t access that app’s data yet. You can check the app store guide for which apps are available, or keep using your current app as you do today.
Will all apps eventually work with Sidekick?
The extension framework is available to all developers. We expect coverage to grow as more developers see the value.
